After a series that began so sharply in the Bucks’ favour, the Raptors have been able to pull out two consecutive wins — one a double-overtime nail-biter, and then a Game 4 blowout. You can bet those feel good for the Raptors, and Drake has been an active presence on the sidelines, even running over to massage coach Nick Nurse late in Game 4.
Not everyone loves these antics, however; Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer was especially critical.
Drake seemed to fire back, highlighting an Instagram comment with a simple argument: If you don’t like teams celebrating and dancing against you, then don’t let them beat you. With respect to the 1980s Miami Hurricanes.
It’s a fine point to make and you hear it all the time when things seem to get out of hand, whether guys are running up the score in a blowout or, for a hockey example, with this year’s flashy Storm Surge celebration.
Let sports be fun! Like anything else, there’s a point where the boundaries and lines should be obeyed, so Budenholzer is right to an extent, but the more fun we can have in the game, the better, right?
