Drake Batherson is red-hot at the moment. The Ottawa Senators youngster has scored 8 goals in the past 8 games, helping the Sens to a 5-3 record over that time. With two more goals on Monday, Batherson’s goal streak was extended to 6 games.
As it turns out, that’s enough to make it into the record books.
Batherson joined Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatley, Jason Spezza, and Bob Kudelski as the only Senators players to score in 6 consecutive games. None of the other three scored in 7 consecutive.
Pretty impressive, perhaps even more impressive is the fact he’s led the league in goals since February 15th.
Gotta love the Drake!
Batherson will have an opportunity at sole possession of the record tomorrow when the Sens take on the Montreal Canadiens.
