Even though the world isn’t out of the COVID-19 woods quite yet, sports are have finally found a safe way to resume, and are on their way back .
Of course, the reason that the world has healed to the point where this is even a viable possibility is because of hardworking healthcare workers battling the pandemic 24/7. There isn’t enough ways to show our gratitude to healthcare workers sacrificing themselves to thank lives, but the reigning champion Washington Nationals are going to try.
Dr. Anthony Fauci is an doctor, immunologist Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He’s also a die-hard Nats fan.
Fauci has worked tirelessly to help conquer and control COVID-19, and the Nationals are showing him gratitude in the best way possible. He was invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Nationals Opening Day, and we imagine the response is an overwhelming yes.
Fauci and all other healthcare heroes definitely deserves the honour, and we imagine it’s all the more special coming from his favourite team.
