Dirk Nowitzki and Dwyane Wade have been two of the most respected players in the NBA for many, many years now, but that’s all going to change next season as D-Wade has made it clear this will be his final season in the league.
On Wednesday night the Heat traveled to Dallas to take on the Mavericks for their first of two meetings this season and there was extra attention on the two future Hall of Famers since there’s a chance it could be their last ever meeting against each other. Following the game, the two embraced each other on the court and came together for one legendary jersey swap.
The two sides are set to meet again later this year, but there’s no guarantee that both Nowitzki and Wade will suit up for that game. Considering the battles these two have had over the years, it’s nice to see them put their differences and competition aside for this epic moment.
Nowitzki has hinted at returning next season as he doesn’t seem ready to retire just yet, but the league is going to feel a little weird when Flash and Disco Dirk are no longer putting in work on a nightly basis.
