The NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League is a bit of a deep cut favoured by hardcore basketball fans primarily, but it does bring some of the league’s brightest young stars together for a chance to shine in a destressed environment.

Also present at a Summer League game on Saturday was NBA Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo, and after Dragan Bender of the Phoenix Suns swatted a shot over the bench and into the first row of the stands, even the legendary shot-blocker himself had to show some respect.

Mutombo is known to bust out the finger wag now and again even in retirement. Mostly, he knows how much people still love his signature celebration, and plays along in good nature. Still, that block by Bender, 2016's No. 4 overall pick, was filthy.

The NBA’s Summer League has provided us with some pretty great highlights thus far, even if from players who aren’t (yet) household names. For our money, the best play so far has come from last month's No. 2 pick, Marvin Bagley.
