A wide receiver is taking home the Heisman Trophy for the first time since 1991.
On Tuesday night, Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver DeVonta Smith was named the 2020 Heisman Trophy winner and he became just the fourth receiver to ever win the award.
In his senior year, Smith caught 105 passes for 1,641 yards and 20 touchdowns, and he’s expected to go early in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Smith put together a very impressive collegiate career, especially over the past two years where he caught 173 passes for 2,897 yards and 34 touchdowns.
It’s the first time in nearly three decades since a WR captured the award, and it’s the first time in history that a SEC WR earned the honours.
You won’t have to wait very long to hear his name called at this year’s draft.
