With the world scrambling to try to better understand racial inequality and the necessary changes to make, we see people and organizations alike find unique ways to assist in the battle. From tributes, to acknowledgements, to donations, everyone is involved in this conversation, but there’s no one, specific way to do it.
For the New Jersey Devils, it’s meant a number of things. Aligned with the work star defenceman P.K. Subban has being doing, the Devils unveiled their latest stride towards justice by revealing a new addition to their ice art. Behind the net, a “Black Lives Matter” message has been placed to help amplify the ever-loudening conversation.
While some may argue that it doesn’t do anything tangible for the cause, it is a powerful message that signifies that the Devils – as an organization – are trying to understand, trying to change.
