Derrick Rose is enjoying a resurgent season after many thought he’d never return to form. The 2011 MVP and former Rookie of the Year has battled countless injuries, particularly to his knees and ankles, and for the most part was seen as an afterthought in today’s NBA that requires agility and durability.

Now a member of the Minnesota Timberwovles, Rose is back. In 32 games with the team, Rose has averaged 18.9 points, 4.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.7 steals per game. Those aren’t MVP numbers, but they’re better than a lot of people were expecting.

As for Rose, he attributes his success directly to Timberwolves recently fired coach Tom Thibodeau. When asked about the canning, Roses didn’t mince his response.

Can you tell he’s not happy?

After the controversial response, Rose reneged and apologized for the bluntness.

Rose insists that he will not fall off with the departure of Thibodeau, so we will see how he responds to the firing. For T-Wolves fans, they’re just hoping he can stay healthy out there.
