The Battle of Alberta is ridiculously entertaining and the bad blood between the Flames and the Oilers isn’t going anywhere.

On January 29th, David Rittich stopped Leon Draisaitl in the shootout to give Calgary the 4-3 win. To cap it all off, Rittich tossed his stick into the air in celebration.

On February 1st, the Oilers took revenge against Rittich by scoring 4 goals on 17 shots, resulting in Rittich getting pulled.

After emotions boiled over in their most recent contest, the stick flip once again got called into question by Leon Draisaitl and Mike Smith.

David Rittich of course had a response to the criticisms about his grand celebration.

David Rittich has no regrets about his stick flip against the Oilers.

David Rittich added on by saying, “are we not allowed to celebrate in this league?” Joey Bats got heat when he did the infamous bat flip, and now Rittich finds himself in some similarly hot water.

If Rittich does plan on doing the stick flip again in the future, prepare for another brawl in the Battle of Alberta.
