A tape job in hockey is very, very personal.

Some players choose to go with a more traditional approach while others elect to go a bit off the map. Take Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak, for example, whose blade essentially looks like a zebra on the ice.

Thanks to a recent signing in the NHL, The Czech native might not have the weirdest tape job anymore. Pastrnak took to Twitter to congratulate his old friend Jan Kovar, formaly of the KHL’s Magnitogorsk Meallurg, on signing with the New York Islanders. He made sure to include a picture of Kovar’s tape job and insisted that its weirder than his own.

We don’t know Dave… pretty sure yours still takes the cake.

Pastrnak and Kovar are just two of many players who possess an odd tape job. Here’s a look at some other notable ones.

We can’t wait to hear about some of the chirps Kovar gets thrown his way in the 2018-19 season.
