Tyler Bozak shouldn’t have any trouble finding a new home, according to TSN Insider Darren Dreger.

Bozak, who’s been with the Toronto Maple Leafs over the entirety of his 9 year career, is coming off of a five year deal that had an annual cap hit of $4.2 million. With the NHL’s free agency interview period now open, Dreger reports that there is strong interest in the 32-year-old.

It’s unclear whether the Leafs will be able to re-sign the centre or not. With rising stars Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander also in need of new contracts, Toronto might be forced to let the Regina native walk. Dreger insists, however, that Toronto is still interested in his services.

Bozak has been good, but not great during his time with the Buds. He managed to put home 365 points in 594 games while holding his own in the faceoff circle. His best campaign came in the 2016-17 season when he recorded 18 goals and 37 assists in 78 contests.

New York Islanders captain John Tavares will be the centre of attention leading up to July 1st’s free agency date, but Bozak’s situation will still be an interesting one to monitor over the next week.
