2020 was a different year for just about everyone. Shutdowns, restrictions, limitations, distancing all became front-of-the-mind words as the COVID-19 global pandemic spread. One of the industries that suffered immensely, particularly at the beginning stages, was the sports industry.
Leagues shut down and the sports world essentially came to a standstill. Through all the struggles, one sports organization came out predominantly unscathed.
The UFC had to postpone a few events after they were literally forced to do so. It didn’t take long for them to get back on their feet, however. Next thing you know, facilities on “Fight Island” opened, and UFC was allowed to continues with heavy restrictions and now crowd in attendance.
With 2020 wrapping up, UFC President hasn’t been quiet about the organization’s successes through struggle. He’s mentioned a number of times the record-breaking statistics that have come in terms of viewership and pay-per view subscriptions.
While many will still maintain the argument that it may have been irresponsible to continue running events through all the turmoil, it’s impressive that White and the UFC were able to escape relatively unblemished.
White is making sure everyone knows about it, and a recent video he’s shared is possibly the most hilariously spiteful piece of content he’s ever shared.
WARNING: Some NSFW language is involved in the following videos.
The highlighting of the reporter’s names and outlet is what sends this truly over the top. Some will call it petty, and others will call it unnecessary, but isn’t this honestly the exact level of braggadocios that is rewarded in the world of professional fighting?
To make matters more entertaining, we want to highlight that White called his shot. Back in October, White joined the Real Quick Podcast with Mike Swick and foreshadowed this video, explaining that he “can’t wait” to release it, and that he would have his shot at the media after having to endure so many shots from them earlier in the year.
You could feel the “I told you so” in that one.
