During Saturday night's UFC 226, all the attention was on the post-event shenanigans between Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar.

Cormier knocked out Stipe Miocic with 27 seconds left in the first round to claim the UFC heavyweight title to go along with his light heavyweight belt.

Following the fight, Cormier called out Lesnar by inviting him to the ring. Lesnar entered the octagon with a little extra pep in his step that led to the former WWE superstar pushing Cormier before the two exchanged some words.

After the dust had settled, Dana White spook with reporters during the post-fight press conference about Cormier defending the heavyweight championship against Lesnar.

Rumours have circulated the 41-year-old Lesnar is aiming at making his return to the UFC on November 3rd in New York for UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden. However, Lesnar is still under suspension from the USADA, although the process to get him cleared to fight again through the drug-testing pool is underway, according to Dana White. Lesnar still has six months to serve, meaning the fight might not take place in New York depending on when the process to have him reinstated commenced. At the earliest, this fight could end up happening in January.

Lesnar's last UFC fight was in July of 2016, a unanimous decision in which Lesnar won. He was then suspended for a year about testing positive for a banned substance. If Lesnar and Cormier do in fact fight in New York, it will mark just under 28 months since Lesnar last fought someone inside the octagon.

Lesnar's contract with the WWE officially ends in August, although details in his wreslting contract allows him to fight in the UFC. His last fight in the WWE was in April.

Despite reports, no official date has been submitted for the potential fight.
