The Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars put together one of the most entertaining series of this year’s NHL playoffs, so it’s only fitting that it all came down to overtime in Game 7 to decide the winner.
After the Avalanche scored late in the third period to take the lead, the Stars answered right back and went on to finish it off in overtime.
Joel Kiviranta was a star for Dallas all game long as he finished the hat-trick with the game-winner in overtime.
The extra hockey didn’t last very long, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t exciting, and it wasn’t just Avs and Stars fans watching from the edge of their seats.
After falling behind 3-1 in the series, the Avs put together an incredible comeback despite losing what felt like half their roster to injuries during the playoffs and series, but it just wasn’t enough in the final game.
