Since the implementation of the shootout, we’ve seen shooters get very creative with their attempts. Usually it’s something that they’ve planned from the beginning, or something they pull off for flash and flare, but every once in a while it’s out of desperation.
Enter Josef Kolacek, a Czech prospect. Kolacek found himself beaten by the goalie as he appeared to wait just a little too long on his attempt. Luckily he found a way to hit the mesh anyway.
That’s a pretty great recovery, and it would have been pretty embarrassing if he hadn’t been able to make it work. Either way, this is a great way to get the bench roaring.
