As the first day of Winter is just around the corner along with the holiday season, we couldn’t help but get into the spirit and tie two of our favourite things together.
The holidays and hockey!
So what better than to brainstorm the ultimate holiday hockey team? Let’s dive into it!
Marc-Andre Fleury
Even though he’s referred to as Flower, which makes us think of spring, we couldn’t help but think of a snow-flurry or should we say, a snow-Fleury?
Either way, both are quite the sight to see!
Kris Versteeg
If you thought hockey players had a ton of nicknames, then check out all of Santa Claus’! One of his more popular names to go by is Kris Kringle, and we can’t help but think of Kris Versteeg himself. His name sounds super Christmas-y to us so he's secured a roster spot.
Garth Snow
The first snowfall of the year and waking up to a white Christmas have to be some of the best moments of the year, let alone the holiday season. Having Garth Snow a part of our All-Holiday team just makes sense.
Morgan Frost
One of the most popular characters of the holiday season is definitely Jack Frost. The character appears in many Christmas stories portraying a different version of the character in each one. Whether it’s the late 90’s Jack Frost film starring Michael Keaton where he comes back to life as a snowman (and shamelessly gets the waterworks going) or Martin Short’s portrayal of the character in the Santa Claus 3, amongst many other film adaptions of the Christmas personification, Frost is a staple of the holiday season.
Connor Hobbs
Now we know what you’re thinking, at first sight, there is no telling that Connor Hobbs has a Christmas-like name. But if you’re a fan of the classic Christmas movie Elf starring Will Ferrall, then you may have caught on by now. After being raised in the North Pole by Papa Elf, Buddy the Elf goes on a journey to New York City to find his biological father, Walter Hobbs.
We’re pretty sure you’re picking up what we’re putting down. And hey who knows, maybe Connor Hobbs pregame meal is Breakfast Pasta that covers the four main food groups, candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup!
Chris McAllister
Similar to our last one, Chris McAllister’s roster spot comes from one of the greatest Christmas films of all time. Though we’re sure his family would never forget him as they make their way to Paris (and somehow do it again on their way to Miami), Chris McAllister is an honorary member of the McAllister family from the Home Alone series.
Also, he gets bonus points for being named Chris and committing to the all-time Christmas name.
Do you think we missed any possible names on our Christmas roster?
Let us know!
