It’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend and the festivities are already well underway in many parts of the world.

One person who got the celebrations going on Friday afternoon is Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor and he showed that he actually is a man of the people by celebrating the occasion with First Responders in Chicago.

McGregor has spent more time promoting his Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey than he has spent promoting his fighting career over the past few months and you can’t blame him as his liquor is flying off shelves around the world. McGregor wasn’t just in Chicago to promote his drink and to promote the event, though, as he spent the afternoon showing that he really is a man of the people.

It was all about McGregor’s roots on Saturday as the UFC star took part in Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day parade by riding the plumber appreciation float, a job he held while living off welfare before making the jump to the UFC.

Chicago wins this year’s St. Paddy’s celebration.
