It’s been one incredible season for Winnipeg Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck.

The former fifth round pick ranks eighth in the NHL with a .923 save percentage and third in total wins with 40. With another victory at BellMTS place, he could would make history in front of a home crowd. After compiling 28 wins, Hellebuyck sits only one win behind former Calgary Flames legend Mikka Kiprusoff for most all-time wins at home. The UMass-Lowell product earned his most recent W in a 5-4 overtime effort over the Boston Bruins.

The Jets are set to hit the road for their next four contests but will close out their regular season with back-to-back home games against the Calgary Flames and Chicago Blackhawks. Hellebuyck won both of his contests against the two teams this season, and It couldn’t be more fitting that he has just the right amount of games to get the job done.

As it stands, Hellebuyck owns a 40-11-9 record on the season. He has arguably been the Jets’ most valuable player and will likely find himself as a Vezina nominee come season's end. In the meantime, the question becomes whether he'll be able to make history in the coming weeks.
