The New Orleans Pelicans began life without DeMarcus Cousins on Sunday night. You simply cannot replace Boogie, you can only hope that your bench guys step up and try their best to make up for the lost production.
While the team is looking to bolster their lineup down the stretch, they had an uninvited guest make an appearance in warmup prior to the start of their game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite wearing the Pelicans warm-up apparel, that guy definitely wasn’t supposed to be in the lineup.
The man being pulled away and escorted off the floor by that police officer is Detroit comedian Tony Roberts. He actually lasted longer than most people would, and if it wasn't for some over-the-top stretches and the shot he took, who knows how long he would've lasted, although the cat was out of the bag when the cop saw his poor form. His physique didn't exactly match the one of a professional athlete, either.
We should give him props, though, for even risking it, and considering how viral the video went on Twitter, people were certainly impressed and thought it was hilarious. Not many people can say they’ve taken shots during warmup prior to tip off of an NBA game with basketball players all around him.
Roberts was in New Orleans for Cousins’ “Boogie Comedy Slam” event. Considering that the Pelicans emoji hashtag on Twitter is "do it big," it's safe to say this stunt was done big.
