Chris Davis went through a five-year stretch where he was one of the best sluggers in baseball, but things haven’t gone so well for the 33-year-old over the past three years.

Most times fan bases move on from slugging players and focus on the positives, but it didn’t help that Davis’ decline started shortly after he signed a massive 7-year, $161 million deal with the Orioles.

While you might find it easy to dislike Davis because of his decline on the field, it’s hard to dislike him for the stuff he does away from it in the community. Earlier this week, Chris and Jill Davis made a generous $3 million donation to the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital.

The couple didn’t just write a check for the hospital, though, as Thursday afternoon they made a trip down to pay a visit to all the patients.

Just a reminder that there are things out there that are bigger than sports.
