Doesn’t it feel like the first NHL Winter Classic was played just yesterday?

If you’re having trouble remembering, Crosby’s infamous shootout winner was scored in 2008. That’s a full decade ago ladies and gentlemen! All these years later and the infamous game is still being played, and a set of youngsters are set to hit the ice on New Years’ day. Among the bunch include Boston Bruins defenceman Charlie McAvoy, who will face the Blackhawks in a rematch of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final. McAvoy shared a hilarious story after his Winter Classic presser from Friday that has left some hockey feeling older than ever.

The two older people remain anonymous. Were they his teammates? Former players? Or just two random fans? This writer (who will also remain anonymous) would be lying if he didn’t feel the same way.

McAvoy recently made headlines for another hilarious reason, this time in relation to his NHL 19 rating. After discovering it, he made sure to give EA Sports a shoutout for giving him some “sick flow.”

Kids these days!

At 20, McAvoy was the youngest player on the Bruins last season. He should prove to be a difference maker on the back end when he hits the ice at Notre Dame’s football stadium this Winter.
