Following the news that left the hockey world completely stunned and Zdeno Chara packing up all the Boston memorabilia he’s collected over the past 14 seasons, his new teammates seem to be ecstatic to have him come to join the Capitals squad.
But for a bit of a different reason than usual.
Capital’s TJ Oshie welcomed Chara with a throwback of the 6 ft 9 defensemen hitting him into the boards with the following comment:
“Looking forward to not doing this anymore! At least not in games... Welcome to DC Big Z!!! #ALLCAPS”
Honestly, we don’t wish a hit from Chara on even our worst enemies!
Tom Wilson even decided to join in on the Twitter fun by expressing how excited he was not having to be on the receiving end of a tilly with Chara.
Again, we do not wish for a fight with Chara on our worst enemies!
Good luck to Chara as he joins the Capitals and good luck to the rest of the league, including the Boston Bruins.
