Chance the Rapper became a hit in the hockey community last year for his role on Saturday Night Live as Lazlo Holmes, a full-time New York Knicks beat reporter for MSG who filled in as the New York Rangers’ rinkside reporter for a night.
Chance’s character became so big that merchandise was created in his honour and the NHL showed him some love by bringing him to Las Vegas for the season opener between the Golden Knights and the San Jose Sharks, where he was at it again with an exclusive one-on-one interview with Jonathan Marchessault.
Lazlo Holmes didn’t have the easiest name to work with in this interview, but it was definitely a lot easier to pronounce than Brady Skjei based off looking at how it’s spelled.
Hopefully the NHL will have another assignment for him in the near future.
