Carson Wentz became a fan favourite in Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania almost instantly during his rookie season and his fan base only continues to grow with each passing day.
The 25-year-old is currently working his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered during Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams, and each day he takes the field at training camp he gives Eagles fans more hope that he’ll be ready to go by the start of the season. On Wednesday, Wentz met with the media after practice where he received a non-football question as he was asked about possibly helping the Philadelphia 76ers recruit LeBron James. Here’s what he had to say.
“Absolutely. Absolutely. I hope he’s coming. [Zach] Ertz and I were there the other night, and unfortunately he lost and everything, I didn’t really care who won in that game, but just seeing him and seeing him live we decided to make it a recruiting trip.”
The Eagles quarterback and tight end were in attendance for Game 4 of the NBA Finals, but they didn’t actually end up talking to LeBron James, as Wentz revealed that in his answer to the following question.
If Philly is able to land King James in the offseason they’re going to look very dangerous next season.
