Carlos Correa might not be the young player that everyone is talking about like he was when the Astros won the World Series in 2017, but he wants to hear from all of his doubters now.

Correa had a bounce back year, finishing with 21 home runs in just 321 plate appearances and his loudest crack of the bat came at a very crucial time. After the Yankees took a 2-1 early in the game, the Astros crawled back to force extra innings and in the bottom of the 11th, Correa stepped up to crush a walkoff home run.

So he hit the crowd with a  Hulk Hogan-esque hand to the ear.

Even if this wasn’t in the World Series, it’s moments that really stand out regardless of when they happen in a postseason run. And with such a timely homer and such an iconic celebration afterword, we have a feeling this homerun trot will be remembered for a long time.

Just look at Kawhi’s shot (End of Round 2) or Bautista’s bat flip (ALDS), they weren’t the championship moment, but they’ll be remembered just the same. The Blue Jays didn’t even go on to win in the year of the bat flip, but it’s still probably the most memorable moment even for people who aren’t fans of the Blue Jays.

So full credit goes to Correa. After a year in which a lot of other young players were thought of as more exciting and better pieces moving forward, he showed up at the biggest moment of the season thus far and kept his team from going down 2-0.
