Carey Price is the perfect example of the new age goaltender that is less about impressive saves and more about efficiency, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some of that vintage goalie in him.

Big showy glove saves aren’t quite as prevelant in the game as they once were; it’s more about playing the proper angles and playing the percentages. Now, one thing that is sure to bring that flashy old goalie style out of anyone is a baseball glove. Most commonly used on the road, the baseball glove is the perfect piece of equipment to snag a ball or puck out of midair and show up your opponent at the same time.

Price brought a baseball glove onto the ice for practice and was showing off what he can do with it.

Funny enough, Price did the reverse this summer as well. When playing in a charity softball game, Price decided to wear his goalie glove instead of a baseball glove.

Considering how much it would hurt to get an actual puck in the palm of a baseball glove and how hard it would be to properly catch a liner with a goalie glove, we recommend Carey sticks with the standard pieces of equipment.
