What would you rather do, win an NHL playoff series on home ice or on the road?
We imagine most people would say they'd rather win a series on home ice so they can celebrate with the fans and feed off of their energy, but there's something about silencing a crowd of over 15,000 people that seems enticing.
Monday night, that's exactly what the Capitals did as they eliminated the Penguins in front of their home crowd and just like it would have been on home ice, the celebration was wild.
In fact, the initial celebration was so crazy that the Caps players actually knocked over a Penguins fan sitting in front of the glass.
The force of multiple players jumping into the boards actually knocked that poor Penguins fan just trying to leave over.
You don't see that very often (if ever), but you also don't see the Capitals advancing to the Conference Final often, either, so what happened may have been fitting in that sense.
