Game 3 between the Boston Bruins started with an opt-out of a key player on one side, and ended in an injury of a key player on the others.

While we know Tuukka Rask is leaving the bubble for good, we aren’t quite sure the diagnosis or severity of the Andrei Svechnikov injury. Either way, it’s a scary time for the ‘Canes as Svech has been one of their top players during this torrid postseason for Carolina.

While battling Zdeno Chara in front of the Bruins net, Svechnikov got his leg stuck under him when he twisted around, awkwardly falling to the ice. There was obviously no intent to injure, but it ended up with Svechnikov getting helped off the ice regardless.

As for Boston Bruins play-by-play announcer Jack Edwards, he thinks the injury was maybe a little more avoidable than the broadcast was letting on.

Jack Edwards is fiercely loyal to the Bruins, and he’s often been called out for being too biased and not giving fair analysis. He certainly seeps with exuberance when the Bruins are doing well, but he catches flack for controversial takes such as this.

As for the ‘Canes, the social media team had a simple response on Twitter.

They may be right about that one.
