Canadian curling fans were left in disbelief on Tuesday night as Rachel Homan’s Canadian rink was eliminated from playoff contention with a 6-5 loss to Great Britain.

The Canadian rink entered the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games as the gold medal favourites, but they were unable to bounce back from a slow start to the tournament that saw them go 0-3 in their first three matches.

Considering Canada’s women’s team has medaled in curling at the past five Winter Olympics, it’s going to be very strange not to see them on the podium at the end of the tournament. Although they’re not going to get the outcome they were hoping for, Canadians from all over showed the team their support following the loss.

Despite not qualifying for playoff contention, Canadians are still proud of everything Homan and her team did and how they represented the country on the largest stage.
