We already knew that the KHL goes above and beyond when it comes to their All-Star Weekend, but this year’s version of the event might be one of the most outrageous ones we’ve seen.
Before getting to the actual game on Sunday afternoon, the all-stars took part in the skills competition on Saturday and they certainly put on a show for the audience in more ways than one, including a one-man concert.
This wasn’t to kick the night off or anything, it was just another random moment during the night as Toronto, Ontario’s Mathew Maione serenaded the crowd with his version of The Lumineers’ ‘Ho Hey’.
Since it is KHL All-Star Weekend you can bet that wasn’t the only outrageous moment that took place during Saturday’s event as we also saw some soccer, dancing and a bunch of other things you’d probably never expect to see at a hockey event.
Hockey fans might not be too fond of the NHL’s All-Star Game, but it’s easy to see why fans in Russia are all for the KHL’s All-Star Weekend.
