Something about country music and football just works well together, right?

Nothing quite sets the scene for a good ole’ game of football like some country tunes, which is why it actually makes perfect sense to us that the seemingly unlikely duo we're about to tell you about works perfectly well together.

If you’re a sports fan, you’ve heard of Brett Keisel. He’s a Pittsburgh Steelers legend that spent 12 years and won two Super Bowls with the team as a defensive end. Kiesel is not only known all over the city for his impeccable beard, he’s also widely respected as one of the best ambassadors for sport in the city.

In addition to all that, he’s become a pretty big hockey fan since the Penguins’ number 87’s influence on Pittsburgh, and he’s now a pretty amazing hockey dad.

If you’re a Canadian country music fan, you’ve heard of Brett Kissel. He’s not only one of the best recording artists the country currently has to offer, he’s also an amazing global ambassador for hockey. Kissel sang the national anthem at this year’s World Juniors, and the Flat Lake, Alberta, native is a massive Edmonton Oilers fan.

He was even born on the same day that they won their last Stanley Cup in 1990!

While it seems like 5’6 Kissel and 6’4 Keisel might not have a whole lot in common other than their strikingly similar names, the two have drummed up one of our new favourite friendships, and it all began on social media. The two Bretts, who hilariously refer to one another as ‘Big Brett’ and ‘Little Brett’, were continuously being tagged in one another’s social media posts due to their similar names. Eventually, the two connected, and Canadian Brett visited American Brett for an eventful weekend in Pittsburgh.

Luckily for fans, both Bretts decided to document it all for their new video series ‘Gridirons & Guitars’. The first episode follows Little Brett and Big Brett around the Steelers’ weight room to see if the country music star can keep up in the gym, and the result is wildly entertaining.

There’s more where that came from, folks!

Both Bretts have a new episode of Gridirons & Guitars coming at you every day until Saturday, and they just keep getting better. You can catch them all right here!
