This year, the Leafs and Jets are the only two teams representing Canada in the postseason and if one of those teams wins the Stanley Cup, it'll be the first time since 1993 that the Cup would be coming back to Canada.
Even if Toronto and Winnipeg don't end the drought, the Cup will come to Canada multiple times during the summer as there are a number of Canadians on every playoff team's roster.
Which team has the most Canadians, though? The answer might surprise you!
(Note: We used every playoff team's roster from NHL.com to determine which postseason team has the most Canadians)
The Vegas Golden Knights have the most Canadian players on their roster of any playoff team. We might need to put an asterisk on this, though, as one of the Canadian players on Vegas is on IR (Clayton Stoner). If that's the case, then two teams have 14 Canadian players, the Golden Knights and Ducks.
15 is the highest number for Canadian players on a playoff team's roster, but what's the lowest number? That digit belongs to the Devils and it's 3. You read that correctly, the Devils only have three Canadian players on their roster.
Here are the numbers for every playoff team in regards to Canadian players on their roster.
So, if the Leafs and Jets falter, the Golden Knights might unofficially be Canada's team. In all honesty, it's hard not to root for them based on the historic first season they've had.
