The Montreal Canadiens were able to come back and defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday for a thrilling 6-5 shootout victory in Toronto, which fully reignited the storied rivalry with another classic. With the Leafs touted as one of the most talented young teams in the league, the Habs flexed their muscles in what could be an intensifying rivalry over the coming years.
Needless to say, it was a good mood in the Habs’ locker room after the big win.
Following in the footsteps of New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius, Canadiens’ goaltender Keith Kinkaid decided to illustrate the victory in a very unique way – through emojis. Kinkaid didn’t actually play in the game, allowing him TONS of time to come up with the perfect tweet following the shootout win.
Kinkaid (and his girlfriend Jaclyn) crafted this beauty, and it’s full of hidden meanings. Are you able to decipher the whole thing?
We’ll wait…
Still waiting…
Still no luck?
Okay, let’s get the Habs to take you through it. Or at least try to.
As for the choice of GIF, it's taken from the music video for Hall and Oates hit song “You Make My Dreams Come True”, which is the Toronto Maple Leafs goal song. That's some next-level trolling from the Habs' netminder.
Apparently he’s got even more emoji’s planned out so get ready for a long season of decoding!
