When it comes to outdoor sports, weather is always a consideration. While the sports may seem better than indoor when the sun is shining and everyone is smiling, the lack of shelter can certainly make for some ugly scenes – whether it’s rain, snow, wind, or lightning.

It can also be frustrating when you’re competing in a sport, or even watching it on TV, and the rhythm is interrupted by weather delays. They’re there for a reason, one of which was caught on camera during the Women’s U.S. Open.

That is a HUGE lightning strike, and it happened right next to the green of the final hole. That’s the sort of happening where if you push a weather delay too late in hopes of completing a round, there could be a price.

Staying dry is one thing, staying safe is another.
