Cam Newton’s chapter with the New England Patriots has concluded.

On Tuesday, the Patriots cut ties with the 2015 MVP and officially named rookie Mac Jones their starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. Newton started 15 games for New England last season, throwing for 2,657 yards and eight touchdowns and adding 592 yards and 12 TDs on the ground over that stretch.

The news is a bit surprising to say the least, but 32-year-old is looking for sympathy from absolutely nobody, which he made clear on his Instagram story. In Newton fashion, he made sure to type the message in a way that makes readers really need to focus on the cursive.

Good on Cam, but now the question becomes… where does he go from here? Well, apparently the Dallas Cowboys are already doing their due diligence. He would back up Dak Prescott, who is returning from a brutal ankle injury he suffered last season.

We’ll have to see what happens with the storied QB but in New England, it’s the end of an era… and the start of a new one.
