The Calgary Flames live to fight another day with a 6-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.
But, it might just be a little too late for them.
Even with the win, the Flames are still eight points out of a playoff spot! While on Monday, the Montreal Canadiens can clinch the final playoff spot with only one point against the Edmonton Oilers.
Luckily for Calgary, it’s not over yet! If the Oilers beat the Canadiens in their last two games, and the Flames beat the Canucks four games in a row, the Canadians are OUT and the Flames are IN!
Calgary’s fate is in the hands of their biggest rivals… that’s gotta suck.
Flames fans are putting their pride aside and desperately cheering for Edmonton to pull through this week!
On the other hand, the Oilers are laughing! They’ve already clinched their playoff spot and now control the Flames playoff destiny.
