Over the past 25 years, likely no sport has grown in size and fandom more than the world of Mixed Martial Arts – namely, the UFC. The ‘Ultimate Fighting Championship’ has been a Masterclass of marketing, with the one-on-one rivalry tactic used to perfection to draw in eyeballs.

While hand-to-hand combat definitely isn’t for everyone, the popularity of the organization is undeniable. Saying that, you likely don’t even need to be a fan of the UFC to be able to identify one of the most recognizable voices in sports.

Bruce Buffer has been working with the UFC since the mid-90s, and his run of consecutive numbered events is truly remarkable. The last time Buffer wasn’t on the microphone for a numbered event was UFC 11, way back in September of 1996.

An ironman in his own right, that streak will come to an end at UFC 267 after Buffer tested positive for COVID-19. That leaves his likely unbreakable streak at a lofty 255 consecutive numbered events.

In short, Bruce has announced nearly every major title fight along with some of the most iconic bouts in history.

It will be Joe Martinez announcing Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixiera as Blachowicz attempts to defend his belt. While health remains the priority for Buffer, it is believed that he is targeting a return for UFC 268 next weekend, and beginning a new streak from there.
