Just when you thought the NFL offseason couldn’t get any more exciting the Cleveland Browns went out and shook the NFL community on Tuesday night by acquiring Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants.
The Odell Beckham Jr. trade rumours started up late last season and a lot of fans speculated he would end up in Cleveland due to his history with current Browns receiver Jarvis Landry, and it all became reality on the eve of the 2019 NFL season.
It’s pretty crazy that the Cleveland Browns won four games in a three year span and are now becoming an attractive landing spot for potential free agents and young players looking to change the team around. As you can probably guess, Browns fans are a lot more stoked about the trade than Giants fans are.
The 26-year-old was selected 12th overall by the Giants in the 2014 NFL Draft and caught 390 passes for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns over his five seasons with the team; good for second on the franchise’s all-time receiving yards list and fourth on the franchise’s all-time touchdowns list.
