Paxton Lynch was selected 26th overall in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos with hopes that he’d be able to fill the hole that was left by Peyton Manning.
Well, it’s safe to say that won’t be happening anytime soon.
The 24-year-old has only started a combined four games over his first two seasons, compiling 792 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions over that span, and it’s pretty clear that the Broncos are ready to move on with the offseason signing of Case Keenum and the selection of Chad Kelly in last year’s draft. One fan decided to take the disliking for the former Memphis quarterback to another level by starting a GoFundMe campaign for the team to cut Lynch.
The campaign was started by Nick Andrew of Aurora, Colorado, and has a final goal of $600,000, the amount Lynch is guaranteed this season. In the first day of the campaign’s existence, 15 people have donated a total of $100 towards the cause.
