You have to stay aware at all times during a baseball game because you never know when a ball is going to come your way at full speed, even if you’re sitting in a suite or the broadcast booth.
During a recent Atlantic League baseball game between the Somerset Patriots and the High Point Rockers, announcer Marc Schwartz impressively caught a foul ball while he was calling the game in the broadcast booth and he was pretty pumped up about it.
Schwartz had his eye on the ball the whole way since he was calling the game and was well prepared for the foul ball and didn’t even miss a beat on his call. To top it all off he handed the foul ball off to a fan in the crowd instead of taking the souvenir home with him.
Nothing like calling your own catch.
