Sports fans are a passionate bunch. Everyone has strong opinions on how their favourite team should be run, how players should behave and how the sport should be played.
Canadians know hockey fans are notorious for their classic mentality on the way the game should be played, and it’s not too different for Soccer in the United Kingdom. That shouldn’t be too surprising considering all of the stories about “soccer hooligans”, but what should shock you is how young it starts.
These traditions are passed down from generation to generation and this hilarious interview with a British kid is a perfect example of that:
If you don’t feel like looking it up, “Yer Da” is a kind of insult among the soccer community that is almost supposed to be like a “Yo Momma” joke, but for poor soccer opinions. This is the example provided by Urban Dictionary:
“insignificant, not worthy of an opinion, foolish
Yer da thinks that Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Lionel Messi.
#soccer”
Overall, the argument sounds a lot like the analytics debate that rages on within the hockey community as well.
