Past and present members of the Chicago Blackhawks took part in NBC Sports Chicago’s #BeChicago special on Wednesday night, but one of the most memorable moments came during Brent Seabrook’s appearance.
With the 3-time Stanley Cup champion on the line, they figured it was the perfect time to call Stefanie Kirschner, a COVID-19 nurse who also happens to be a massive Blackhawks fan.
Kirschner was one of over 700 frontline workers who were nominated for the opportunity to be part of the event, but she was the only person who received multiple nominations.
Like the Blackhawks defence man said, Stefanie and everyone else putting their health at risk on the frontlines of the pandemic are the true heroes.
