Brady Tkachuk’s suffered a groin injury in the preseason that has kept him out of the Sens’ lineup for their first two games, so when he was ready to go for game 3, his teammates were ready.
Rookies should really expect it by now, but even if you do expect it, there’s not a lot you can do. It’s the solo hot lap when you first go onto the ice, all eyes are on you, which has to be an unusual feeling. Tkachuk’s lap was extra special because he got to do it in Boston, where he played University in his final junior year before 2018-19.
He isn’t the first player to get this treatment this season and he won’t be the last. Elias Pettersson was pranked in the same way before his first game of the season as well.
