There are plenty of unwritten rules in sports with one of the biggest ones being you don’t touch the trophy unless you’ve actually won it.
Last season the St. Louis Blues captured their first Stanley Cup title in franchise history, so when the time came for Blues Director of Player Recruitment Keith Tkachuk to spend his day with hockey’s most prized possession, his kids decided to opt out of the traditional family photo with the Stanley Cup.
Brady Tkachuk was asked about his father’s day with the cup ahead of the Ottawa Senators’ tilt with the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night and shared the story about how he and his brother, Matthew, decided to sit out the family photo in hopes of one day taking a photo with it after they win it themselves.
