The NHL All-Star Game is a place where defense does not exist and goalies are absolutely left out to dry. Despite that trend, Washington Capitals goalie Braden Holtby is getting completely ripped apart for his performance.

The Metropolitan division lost 9-5 to the Atlantic division in the first round of the All-Star game. Braden Holtby let in four of the nine shots he faced, and that was enough for hockey fans to let him have it.

In their defense, Braden Holtby probably isn’t the most deserving goalie to make the all-star game this year. He has a save percentage that’s under .900 and a goals against average of over 3.

Even still, it’s an all-star game so we should give Braden Holtby a little bit of a break. Let him enjoy the weekend, then get back to roasting him once the regular season resumes.
