Of all participating NHL players, Brad Marchand had one of the most interesting All-Star weekends. The freshly suspended Bruins’ forward arrived in Tampa Bay as the undisputed super-villain. He was met with boo’s whenever he was announced and dealt with signs directed at him throughout the weekend.
As Marchand explained heading into the weekend, he wasn’t going to let the suspension or the expected fan reaction keep him away from the festivities. He had earned the right to represent Boston.
While his Team Atlantic was beaten in the finals, it seemed like Marchand genuinely had fun over the weekend. And if one thing clearly emerged, it’s that he is not afraid to make fun of himself.
Keeping with the self-deprecating theme of the weekend for Marchand, he found himself face-to-face with a parrot who he claimed “had a bigger nose than he did.” Marchand’s defining beak-shaped nose is one trait that people often chirp (pun intended), so it was nice to see him take that schnoz shot at himself.
He laid the self-burn just moments before attempting to kiss this parrot. As he mentions on camera, he was terrified. He never kissed the parrot.
Is it just us or did that parrot seem extremely unimpressed.
