Fans have been bringing signs to sporting events for decades in hopes of getting noticed on the jumbotron, on the broadcast, or by one of the athletes. If you’re able to get to the stadium early enough for warm-ups, the chances of your sign getting noticed only increases.

On Monday night the St. Louis Blues hosted the Florida Panthers. One young fan in the stands happened to be celebrating his 9th birthday at the game, and it also happened to be Mackenzie MacEachern’s birthday, too.

During warm-ups, the birthday boy on the ice noticed the birthday boy in the crowd and made the young man’s day a little more special.

Fans tend to focus on one or two particular players, but this young man was just hoping to get some sort of birthday recognition from anyone on the Blues. Not only did he get hooked up with a stick an autograph, but he got a personalized birthday message from a player who shares his birthday.
