The World Series has been one of the more exciting series in recent history, so it’s only fitting that it goes to seven games.
We have the homegrown team of advanced statistics background, picked to be the 2017 World Series champs more than three years ago, versus the all-powerful Dodgers. Of course, it’s the Dodgers haven’t been all powerful in the playoffs of late, but they give off a Steinbrenner-era Yankees vibe because of the way they’re able to spend their dough.
This matchup has led to a lot of lead changes, a lot of home runs and many heroes emerging every game. Some other players are becoming inspired by the performance, including one the Blue Jays top prospects, Bo Bichette.
The Blue Jays’ farm system quickly topped up over the past couple season, as players like Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Anthony Alford began to shine.
Bichette may have taken the biggest jump last season as he showed power, speed and discipline in his 19-year-old season. He finished the year with 14 home runs, 22 stolen bases and a .362/.423/.565 slash line. This season has put him in the top 25 prospects in the league at the moment, according to MLB.
If he can keep up that kind of performance, he might help the Blue Jays reach what escaped them in the past three years sooner rather than later.
Either way, he has fans thinking about a championship.
