The Columbus Blue Jackets are on the verge of sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning. Did a single person on earth foresee that sentence being used just four games into the playoffs?!

Or at all for that matter?!

After outscoring the Lightning 12-5 through the opening three games, the Jackets have the opportunity to win their first playoff series in franchise history against the President’s Trophy winners on Tuesday night. Fans are obviously hyped about their team’s unthinkable position, but spirits were brought down a tad after a warning was sent out on Twitter from Columbus’ Nationwide Arena. Jackets nation was instructed to NOT bring brooms to the game for safety concerns.

THEY’RE BEING ROBBED OF ONE OF HOCKEY’S GREAT POSTSEASON TRADITIONS!!!!

Fans were not having it… at all.

Or maybe the whole thing was just a flex?

And then there was this beauty…

Tampa Bay could make history tonight for all the WRONG reasons. Coach Jon Cooper’s squad already became the second President’s Trophy winner to ever trail 3-0 in a first round series and could become the first to get swept with another loss. The last President’s Trophy team to go down 0-3 were the 2012 Canucks, who lost to the eventual #8 seed Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings.

Will the #Lightning win Game 4 against the #BlueJackets?

Don’t be surprised if at least a couple of fans bring out the brooms if the Jackets can come out with a W.
