The Portland Trail Blazers revealed their 2020-2021 City Edition jerseys on Thursday.
For the first time in team history it’s going to read ‘Oregon’ on the front of the jersey, using the same font from an old sign that still shines in Old Town Portland. It’s also going to celebrate the state’s landscape and acknowledge their tribal nations throughout the region who have called the land home from the beginning.
They went with earth one colours to represent the beautiful and unique landscape and topography of Oregon, and will have a special patch to honour the tribal nations throughout what is now considered Oregon.
As awesome as the jerseys look, the best part about them is that proceeds from every sale will go towards the Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA), a Portland-area non-profit working to enhance the diverse strengths of Native youth and families throughout cultural identity and education.
